I am Departmental Lecturer in the Faculty of English at Oxford, where I convene the postgraduate core papers in material texts, theories of the text, and scholarly editing for the MSt courses in 1830-1914, 1900-present, and American Literature. I also teach on material texts for the MSt in World Literature.
These courses make substantial use of material and digital forms of literature, ranging from Oxford’s special collections to digital editions and new digital techniques for the study of notebooks and writers’ libraries. You can read more about my research in this area at www.recovery-of-literary-manuscripts.net
At the undergraduate level, areas of interest include literature in English since 1750, especially the Oxford papers in modern literature (1830-1910 and 1910-present), literary theory, and the finalists’ paper in Eighteenth-Century and Romantic literature (1760-1830).
